Weltmaschine : Österreich
Trip to Gsellmann’s Weltmaschine in southern Styria
Inspired by the Atomium in Brussels, Austrian farmer Franz Gsellmann (1910–1981) spent decades constructing a giant machine in a shed on his property. Only later was his creation given the name Weltmaschine, or “world machine.” To this day no one has managed to determine what purpose this machine was actually meant to serve.
